Don’t forget to send us your best photos of Maidenbrook Country Park and The Somerset Wood. There is still plenty of colour in our woodlands with Spindle pink ‘popcorn’ seed pods aplenty and those glorious reds of the Dog rose rosehips.
A pair of swans are still regular visitors to look out for, along with small field voles looking for warm homes for the winter. The recent cold snap saw our wildlife pond almost completely frozen over – a beautiful sight – but no skating please! This is a wildlife area and the ice is of course far too thin for safety (not to mention the very chilly ‘bath’ in the murky waters that would result).
